About WEDS
The project created by WindEurope Secretariat is dedicated to speeding up the digitalisation of the wind energy sector by enabling the universal data standard that can provide common naming of all parameters critical to wind farm development, operation and maintenance.
The main objective of the project is to create and coordinate a dedicated expert group among its members.
At the end of the project, WindEurope expects the industry involved in the process to commit to using the newly developed standard as the main instrument for data specifications and exchanges.
The scope of the WEDS project
Project objectives
- Coordinated by WindEurope
- Technical contributions by industry experts
- Coordination with other electricity sectors and respective data standards
Technical objectives
- To identify with the industry experts core data areas and data points that are partly, insufficiently or not at all covered by the current standards and the industry would significantly benefit by aligning on them (e.g. alarms)
- To assess the alignment issues per data area/data point (more detailed definition? refinement? creation? other? )*
- To coordinate the industry contributions and exchanges for addressing the identified alignment need per data area/point
- To identify with industry experts a simple use case of data communication with the TSOs and collaborate with ENTSO-E to cover respective standardisation needs
